Alright guys...got my 4L80. It is a 30k mile take out from an '04 Silverado 2500 2WD. This is going into my RCSB 2WD '04 GMC. I have a hard time understanding some of the wiring stuff as I read it, so please bare with me.

Below are a couple of pics I need help identifying...

First:


The lower round plug I believe is the engine harness to transmission connector. What is the upper plug? Will I use either my stock modified harness for these two plugs or the conversion harness if I wish?

Second:


What is the lower plug and the upper on this one? Do I use stock harness plugs for these?

I was wondering since the stock connectors and some of the stock wiring was on this tranny that it would be easier to use?

Also, I read that I will need part# 15013290 - 4L80/85E Shift cable bracket at transmission, but I believe it is already on here shown in the first picture.

I appreciate the help on this, and again I apologize for the what is probably been covered questions.

 

Don't have one myself. Gonna make some educated guesses here.

The two smaller ones are the speed sensors. You should have one plug in your harness that would go to the front. The rearward one you will have to add and run to your PCM.

The bigger one is the gear selector. Think you need to put the one off your 60e on it.

 

He is right... The smaller ones are your Speed Sensors.. you have a front and rear Speed sensors.. the Big rectangle one is your gear selector and the round one in the rear is your Solenoid/TCC/ and Temp sensor wiring harness.

You have two like style connectors these are your input(turbine) and output speed sensors(VSS). The conversion harness will have to be connector for the turbine sensor. (front sensor with two pins that will have to be wired into you computer) You will use your existing connector that is in our vehicle for the rear sensor(VSS). The round connector is the main transmission case connector. There is a an adapter harness available for this that will re-pin the connector for you in literally seconds. The big black switch on the trans where the shift shaft linkage comes out of the transmission is your PRNDL switch or neutral switch as some call it. You can remove this one from the trans and use the existing one from your current trans and the wiring as well. No need to get the bracket for the shifter cable because your trans came with one.
