It's not a cost thing. Ones I've seen are less than $10. It's finding one and the right one. I've been through a couple manuals now and there are different sized ones. I'm going by Autozone this evening and see what I come up with.

I hear ya. Ya, when upgrading trannies, it usu. isn't a cost thing. It's a labor thing. It's a cost thing when buyin a built unit from someone. A DIY'er doesn't have to worry bout labor. If u lived by me, I'd send u to a place or buy it for ya. It worries me when I go into some stores & I know more than they do.
Have u firmly decided which tranny to build? Sounds like the spare. Bought any other parts, if not get it together from a place u feel is competent. My .02.

The seal is bad, not suppose to be that way. Ordered one from the dealer today.
I've decided to build the one that is broken. I've pulled out everything from the spare, putting in a 34 element sprag, and complete transgo kit in it. It then goes in the truck and I take my time and build it with good frictions and such.
