Output shaft of my 80e. Looks like this seal is fubared and I should replace it?

mine doesn't look like that...but the seal on mine is green. Maybe a 2wd vs 4wd thing

That is why I ask, I have seen several 4wd rear seals look that way and this tranny is absolutely pristine in every way. It is odd that the seal would be blown.

Hahaha, I've actually thought about tucking it back in.

The more I look and the more I hear I actually think it's okay. I'm going to scour my photo's tonight when I get back home but I know at least the last 65e I took out was he same way. I'm thinking it actually flows a little fluid out here to keep the rear bushing lubed and then returns at the bottom to the pan. I know there is always fluid in the case extension when I pull them on the 4wd's.

Hate taking advantage of the professional transmission guys but I might PM them.
