Its going to be hard to find a performance "street" tire in that size..All tires have a tread wear/speed rating..My thinking is the lower the tread wear/higher speed rating the more performance oriantated the tire will be..Just do a DDD or TR search and see what comes up..

I love my 275/60/16 Toyo Proxe ST II's. They easily compete with my old Pirreli Scoprion's, seem to be more quiet, definitely last longer, and are far cheaper.

Ive been looking at these: Destination ST: Firestone Tires

Seems to have good tread wear and great dry traction.
Ive been able to find them around town for a decent price.

why not run them on the street? they are a street tire. i ran the nitto 555r daily and got about 12,000 miles out of them. you did ask for the BEST treet tire for traction.

toyo proxy, scorpions, michelin, blah blah blah blah dont hold a candle to a nitto 555r or mickey t et drag radial. maybe the title should have been what is an OK tire for street traction

Nitto 420s, I run them and they hold up great. Hell I blew up my read end on my crew cab with these tires launching out on the street so they hook up pretty well.
