4l60e p1870
So I have a 2000 silverado 1500 and am going to be installing my Doug's headers. I have an opertunity to take my time and rebuild my trans. Ive gotten code p1870 twice on the truck and it just went away after a little. It only happens when I go on road trips to palm springs in the summer. Trans gets hot and the 1-2 shift kicks like a mule. I have 156K on the truck and am thinking I should just rebuild the trans. It's a 2wd. I have CAI, vette servo, electric fans, and putting on the tri y's soon and getting a Blackbear tune once the headers are on.
Also where can I get rebuild instructions for the 4L60E? Need to know cluth pack height and all that. Like I said I'll be taking my time to do it so I don't mess anything up

what has happend is the TCC valve bore has worn and the PCM has detect the leakage and slipage and then goes into limp mode, which is max pressure hence hard shifts, turn key off and it reset...for a while.trans go jr, kit will correct that loose bore,a 50 cent spring in that bore will correct it to,just knowing what you need iis the trick, your making the converter on/off apply vs OEM pulse width modulated apply
An alternative, would be to try to find a low mile say under 30K miles 4L65e and put a trans go kit and vette servo and call it a day.If you can find that trans for say $500
