Default best street converter

I have a 2500 stall that came with my truck and have been told that I need something bigger for a tr224. its an s10 sbsc with a 6.0 and 3.55 gears, but might end up with 3.73s. i'm looking for a 3000 stall, should be plenty but if you have a reason to recomend something bigger or smaller just let me know. its going to be my daily, this is something I really haven't done much research on so any advice should be helpful.
Thanks,
Greg

I had the TB coverter with a comp 222/224/112 and it was shitty, I went to a yank tt3k and it was a night and day diff. I would say at least 3k stall.

get an ss3600. I run one with my 224/224 and it's great. That is after stepping up from an ss3200 as well.

You guys don't think a 3600 is a little steep for a DD, especially the fact its in a lighter S10 setup with a 6.0? Gears will play big too! I would definately agree with that setup in a fullsize for the street.

I drive my truck every day EVERYWHERE with my ss3600 and have zero problems. I shift at part throttle around 2300 rpms

he has a 6.0 in a light s10 with 3.73s...3000 should be perfect for daily driving. of course more stall would be nicer but he is more focused for street and daily driving and i am sure considerate of gas usage.

Look at Black X's results from going from an ss3600 to an ss4000. You aren't going to lose much city mileage between yanks because they are so tight that you can almost drive them like stock.

I went from a ss3200 to a ss3600 and lost no gas mileage in town.

Oh and FWIW Black X has an s10.

You know, i would agree with you on the 3600 if the guy was going for an all out drag machine, like Black X, not saying he doesn't use his s10 for just as much dd as the next guy as well. The only other issue i would raise is the dynamics of a highstall tc. They make heat, the higher the stall the more the heat, potentially he may have to contend with this further than a lower stall tc.

I think dd'ing an s10 with a 3600 stall, and cammed 6.0 would be useless without drag slicks anyway, wouldn't you have all kinds of traction issues? If you were to mat the pedal, the only time the 3600 gets actually stalled out, wouldn't you just break loose with street tires? Why not use more of that nice available torque band in the 6.0 instead of throwing it to the stall? At higher speeds the highstall actually drops the pass top speed, doesn't it? I know with my 3000 pi anyway, i have all kinds of street tire traction issues, thats running 305's on 22's.

The point i would make in favour of a 3600+ is, are you going to be happy with just a performancy dd? You are making a fairly high power to weight ratio machine already, sounds like you want to play, maybe get addicted to finding new low 1/4 ets?! I don't know, all things to consider!
