Default B&M shift kits?

My neighbor gave me a B&M shift kit for a 2001 4-l60-E. My dad has an 02 chevy, i was wondering if i could use it on his truck. I have a transgo on my truck and never really heard of you guys using B&M. is there a reason?

the b&m is an ok shift kit, alot of people go with the transgo because its got alot of detail parts. but the shift kit your neighbor gave you should work in your dads truck, the valve bodies are the same.unless its a 4wd then there might be a slight difference.
