Default auto ride??

so i decided to drop my tahoe a hair or so. but the springs i found say if you have replace auto ride shocks with normal shocks. how do you know if you have auto ride? theres no airpump in mine as far as i know but its a lt so it probably has the smooth ride shocks. so how low can i go on stock shocks? i'm only looking at a couple inches just enough to make it look good over some 20's probably. and how low can you go on torsion bars before your angles get bad on the half shafts?

im pretty sure it wont ride like stock( worse) if you drop it 2-3 in. and dont get shocks for lowered vehicles

i dont know about the auto ride though

i believe he went down 8in. in the rear but its completely different on the tahoe. leafs on the trucks, rear coils on the suvs- belltech has some 3" drop coils for the rear

for the 4x4 (dont know if you are?) djm has a 1/3 drop - keys in the front and coils in the back

yeah 4wd. i'll buy lowered shocks if need be i just don't want a ruff ride. stiffer is ok better handleing and all. but i don't want the basket ball ride. where you bounce a whole lot and feel every little bump in the road.

'bout 10-12"

being 4x4 bout the only choice ya have with a static drop kit ( no bags) is the 1/3 djm kit

belltech and djm both make the drop springs for the rear and djm has the keys for the front

check out stylin concepts for more

mcgaughey's makes a 3/5 kit that would look sweet but its for 2wd but i dont see why it shouldnt work the 2wd has tbar front susp.too

For autoride the trim badge on the pillar should have it listed, if not just look at your rear shocks and if they have an airline, electrical connector, and support bag on the shock then you have autoride. If normal shocks then you don't. Autoride is integrated into many systems on your car including the abs, there is no easy way of disabling it to go with normal shocks.
