Default anyone need a c notch with a 4" rear drop?

i'm banging on the bumpstops all the time. I've had 3 lowered trucks before..... all 88-98 trucks, with a a shackle and hanger install, i never had a problem. so ididn't bother thinking about it for this one. I installed edelbrocks all the way around the truck with the drop, and i was thinking maybe throw the stock shocks back on the rear to stiffen it up? also... maybe putting the shackle in the other hole? how much will this raise it? or do i need to just put a c notch in?

I hit the bumpstops (pancake style) with my belltech 2/4 . The difference is the newer trucks have a continuous straight frame rail over the axle, while the older trucks, 98's and below, their frame rail is kind-of contoured around the axle.

I have the same problems, everytime I hit a big bump, BANG, a bone jarring slam from the rear, I have thought about a C-notch, but it does not look like there is room between the frame and bed. I have seen some people putting on the Slam Air helper bags, but that just increases the spring rate making the truck ride stiffer all the time. Any suggestion or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A c-notch would certainly help but if you don't want to cut it then maybe some Slam Air helper bags from Air Lift might do the trick. The helper bags will probably firm up your ride a little. See if anyone has tried the helper bags and how they made out with them. Lots of people do them with the 4/6 and a notch.

I have a djm 2/4 drop and a firestone/belltech air helper spring in the rear. The truck rides really nice considering Im on 35 series tires. Before the bags, it rode like ****.

As long you don't but like a 100 pounds of air in the bags, it wont ride much different. I run like 15 pounds and that usually does the trick. Firm, but not harsh. No banging of the bump stops.
