Default Anyone changed BACK to a 4L60E after swapping to an 80?

Just curious - the 2.48 1st gear in the 80 sucks compared to the 3.06 in the 60. Anyone contemplated swapping back or actually done it?

Do the 2.75 first gear swap, it will make second a 1.57 ratio too. Tci offers it along with a couple of other companies. I bet FLT could hook you up.

I've heard good things about this.

I wouldn't know with my setup, just like EDawg points out, I have 4.1's as well, no going back for me. 80MPH highway cruise with converter locked is 2500. 2800 to 2900 unlocked. I am at 31.44 tire size.

the 4l80e rocks, i will never switch back. by the time most people need a 4l80e they are making prety good power and the 1st gear ratio change doesn't effect things much. if you are traction limited like many of us are the higher 1st gears might actualy help things.

Yeah, I won't swap back, I was wondering if anyone else had. I may look into new gears but I'd have to do front and rear, or maybe swapping out 1st gear. Or maybe I'll just work with what I have. I won't have any new times till it cools off later this year....

I just got done swapping back but I can't offer a comparison because I took out a the supercharged built 6 liter/4l80e and put in the stock 5.3/4l60e. I can tell you this much....going from decent horsepower to a stock motor is a BIG switch. The 1st gear ratio doesn't make up for 300+ rwhp, LOL
