I will be replacing my leaf spring bushings this weekend. Just wondering if anyone has some advice or tricks to aid in the removal

 

A socket that is about as big as the bushing, beat the **** out of it with a hammer.

 

Got a torch ?

We used a press. And have used a torch before.

 

Yep i got a torch no press thou.

Sooo socket, hammer, torch and some ****.

 

The torch works well, it just smells horrible. The socket method sucks, you've got to beat the **** out of it.

 

Ya I am expecting it is going to take awhile... Hopefully adjusting the pinion angle, new poly bushings combined some kind of traction bar helps my vibration under heavy load at speed...

On a side note, i called smith racing about the assasin bars, they are releasing a newly designed bar for our truck next week... He said that they have been flooded with orders so they decided to redesign the rear mount.. Previously he said they just welded some brackets on the stock mount, now they are redesigning it...

 

Yep torch em out. I had no luck with the press or socket and hammer method

 

You guys are ******. They pop rite out with the old socket and BFH trick

 

I would torch 'em. Lube the new ones good.

 

Press. It took me about 5 minutes to do all four. I'd say it's be worthwhile to find a shop that'd do it for you for some beer money
