Another 4L60E bites the dust. Opinions?

So you're saying that firming up the transmission's shifting will cause additional wear on the clutches? I thought improving shift firmness, within reason, would reduce transmission wear and lower operating temps.

I'm saying just that. "Normal" people complain when a Trans shifts firm, so out of the box GM has them shifting soft, which hurts longevity.
I'd bet they would on average last longer with a mild shift kit and a vette servo.

Trans is in the truck, and all I have to say, is HOLY ****. This thing will break your neck off when you put your foot in it, and the circle D stall should have been what GM put in these things when they were new. I love it. I have a little trans tuning to do, mostly returning shift times back to stock so I can change from there, but overall I am very happy with the combo. Feels like a totally different truck.

Oh, and for the guys that may be freaked out by Vacuum Modulators. Don't be! The shift pressures are f'n spot on for a nice built unit and they are completely foolproof. Very docile when driving around town, and nice and hard when you're beating it like a circus animal.
