I may not have a 408 but I am making plenty over 1000 foot pounds. 1400 as soon as I hit the nitrous button. I make 1000 foot pounds on just diesel. Even with my peg-legged G80 causing all that load to hit on just one axle the axle looked perfect when I tore it down the other day for my G80 replacement.

Granted I am doing it with the 3/4 ton 30 spline axles but even the 1/2 ton axles are pretty tough. Aftermarket axles are pretty cheap insurance though. As fast as you are going in the 1/4 I would not cut any corners, Parish!
