99-00 have the longer crank, after that they used the shorter crank (same length as the 4.8/5.3)

If you are building a 99-00 6.0L you can swap out crankshafts to the shorter one. If it was me I'd just build an 01+ 6.0 if you haven't spent alot of money!

I had a 4l60e behind my 00 6.0. I used the old 5.3 flexplate with new holes on it to mate to the 6.0. The 60E only lasted 1 yr though.

I wish I could help but I don't know the answer to that one. But I think it will work. Just measure the distance between tranny's or even better search for 4l80E length compared to a NV3500 I'm sure you'll come up with something.

Edit: Possibly with a custom built converter.
you can run a 60e behind it.. just drill the 80e flexplate to the 3 bolt 60e pattern and do not use the spacer.

PLEAS HELP I have a 03 6.0. trying to replace it with a 01. I bought the spacer from gm that was suppose to pick up the slack. Its spinning the starter but somehow not enough to allow the bendix to return after kicking out.Anybody had this issue or can help?
