99' crank= longer, spacer? for flexplate?

@ George C... Im using a 6.0 starter. My original engine, 2004 6.0 had the flexplate completely broken all the way around the crank, still bolted to flywheel. I also noticed it had that same spacer that i went to gm to buy part# 12563532. I actually tried a 5.3 starter to no avail. Am i overlooking something?

Default 6.0 swap

Im looking to change out my 6.0 vortec. its a 04 and im trying to replace it with a 01. I used the suggested crankshaft spacer part # 12563532 to take up the slack of crankshaft flange difference. the starter spins the flywheel but doesn't release enough back int starter housing. Help im stranded in the house with the old lady
