your truck is a very nice setup and the 80e adds icing to the cake!!

when going from the 60e to 80e, whats the segment swap exactly in the hptuners to fix it? i am using a PSI wire harness thats setup for my 80e and using a 2000 truck computer thats dbc throttle body.....

i have no tuning experience but have just dropped a 4.8/4l80e/s480 in my 454ss truck and my buddy turned off the vats so it would fire and put a basic tune up in it but we arent sure what to do on this swap from 60 to 80 in "tune" form so to speak. truck idles great and revs good but i havent driven it yet for fear of the trans not working correct since the ecm is a 60e setup.

thanks so much for your help and i hope im not out of line by asking on your thread,
Jamie

i couldn't tell you what the segment swap does besides it makes everything work lol

if you ran it without, i would assume you would have reverse and 3rd gear. (never tried, so i dont know)

you might want to upgrade to an 02' OS

The 80e uses different solenoid logic as it continues to apply with every gear where as a 60e applies and releases depending on gear. Also the gear ratios are different between the two.
