I voted 4L80-E. I've ranted plenty about the 700R4 in the past, so I'll just leave it to my vote. Any truck with boost will always get the same vote from me.

A 4L80-E with a small converter and 4.56:1 gears launches just fine!

If you're that concerned about the gearing difference, it might be worth contacting John Kilgore. He does complete custom gearsets for his Superlite TH400s, and I think I've seen a post on LS1tech where he claimed to be able to do custom gear sets for the 4L80E also. He's not a sponsor; search for kilgoretrans to find his website. I bet FLT could get custom ratio planetaries for the 80E from him . . .
