65e or 80e?????

Well my 70e is starting to slip already. 2000 miles on the blower and its on its way out. I dont know what to do, im torn. For those of you who dont know, im running a 06 Crew Cab Vortec Max. 6.0L, Radix, 3.0 Pulley, and there will be a GT2-3 cam in there soon.
Before the cam i dynoed at 425hp/470tq at the wheels. I plan to put the cam, and either meth or small shot of nitrous.
I have two choices i guess. Do a built 4l65e, and have it built to the max......or do a decently built 4l80e along with the conversion package. I know the 80 is pretty much bullet proof and its probably the way i should go but ive heard some stories of MPG loss, slower acceleration, it weighs more, and it will suck up more power. I just want to do minimal work without a ton of modifying.
What does everyone think? The way i have seen it, it looks like i could do a 80e for about he money of the 65e and id need a converter for both as well.

Talk to FLT and see if they think their level 5 will last. If they dont think it will last a shift kit 80e would be in order. I have given up on 60es, I have killed two fully built ones.

I estimate my truck being at the 500 at teh wheels mark soon with mods i listed above. Vince from FLT doesnt seem to think their level 5 will be up to par for that kind of power. He says that will be running on the ragged edge.
Send me the PM...i dont mind.

you should go 80e beacuse of your vehicles weight, that bitch is a bus so it deserves a bus tranny lol. If you go with the 65e with the billet output shaft it may hold but then your in the 3500 range. 3500 can do the 80e swap and you can call it a day!

The 80e only weighs about 10-15 lbs more than the 60e. The 80 will hurt your stop and go mileage, but will be the same on the hwy. Get a higher stall and you will be about the same off the line.
