4wd 4l80e in a 2wd
#1
Will it work? What's required to make it work? Is it worth it or should I keep looking? If not and someone can make use of it let me know. The guy is asking $150 OBO. Thanks for any advice.

If you have an output shaft and tail housing, and i do believe the 2wd you have to knock the plug out of the back of the trans.... And the 2wd has an oss on the side of the case the 4wd would have a plug for the hole in the place of the oss!! $150 whats wrong with it??

Find the tailshaft and output shaft used( i have them just need pull my 2wd apart to chabge out my tailshaft and get the busted 4wd off my front porch) the oss is output shaft speed sensor iss is input shaft speed sensor..

One thing missed is the cup plug with tail oil hole, it needs to be plugged.
$150 is amazing and leaves room for a full rebuild IMO. Older, 93 or so need custom shift linkage bracket.

I attached a link to the rebuild kit that I plan to get. It comes with intermediate and input shafts but I don't see any mention of a output shaft. If the kit is upgrading those shouldn't the output be upgraded as well or is a oem piece sufficient? What will I need in addition to the kit in order for it to be converted to a 2wd unit? Just the sensors and tail housing? I apologize for all of the newb questions, I just want to be clear on my parts list so I can drop everything off to my trans guy and he'll have everything he needs to build me a bulletproof trans.
