There is more to the fuel economy gain then just the o/d ratio. I've been contemplating this swap too----just not sure if the 6L90e can hold up to big power (I'm planning on mo power ).
For me, what kills my fuel economy the most is the converter due to the start/stops. My driving is mixed city/hwy, but just a tighter converter would pick me up 1-2 mpg I'm pretty confident.
The 6 speed with its steep lower gears would enable a person to run a tight (basically stock type stall) converter yet still have great out of the hole accel due to the gearing advantage.
I'm definitely down to try it, but my SS is my daily driver so it isn't something very easy to attempt as it isn't a sorted out bolt in deal at this time......
Anyone wanna be the first guinea pig?
