Default Assassin Trac Bar Settings?

Anyone have any tips for setting up Assassin trac bars? Here's a link to the directions:

http://smithracecraft.com/images/sto...structions.pdf

I'm not sure where to start other than putting the bar on the lowest holes first like it suggests.

Also, can I use the bars to "preload" the springs?

I have 2" drop hangars and shackles with 6* pinion angle shims (fat end forward) if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

i have mine set so the bar is parallel to the ground when sitting on the slicks, i also pre load the bars until i cant turn them anymore by hand. looking at pictures i get about 2" less squat out of the rear and have been able to run higher tire pressure. while on the street i dont move bar position so the front points down slightly but i do back off so there is a 1/4" or so gap between the bar and the eye. if i leave them turned up it is F'in stiff hitting bumps. if i want to sacrifice ride for a little more traction i bring them up and touch with no preload and it lets me hook about 10mph lower. i still cant hook on an unprepped street while on slicks though

Thanks for the thoughts? What do you mean by baking them off so there is 1/4 gap between the bar and eye? It sounds like these will make ti ride harder? Where do you have them set in terms of height?

Anyone else?

im not sure im following what your saying so i took a picture to show you my setup. i realized that the gap is tight now but may be because i have a half tank of gas and the spare tire in so the back is sitting down a little more. this is showing the front, on the street i would normally keep the block sitting under the leaf spring eye with a little gap 1/8-1/4" this is just about touching but no pressure on it. you really feel the difference if you have it tight when you are in it and you hit a bump, feels like no suspension in the rear otherwise it rides okay.

Grape soda my friend. Poor mans traction compound. That's what the old guys do around here with their muscle cars and slicks on the street.
