I haven't gotten my NSS in yet, but I snapped a couple of pics last night of the distance from the bracket clipping point to the shift linkage shaft coming out of the transmission on the 4L60 and the 4L80. This is why the cable is not lining up right when I clip it into the bracket and try to clip the end of the cable to the shift lever (shift lever not pictures in the pics below). Adding the NSS won't do much to change this will it because doesn't it just slide over the shaft coming out of the trans?

In case the pics aren't real clear here, the 4L80 distance measures about 8-7/8" to the center of the linkage shaft. The 4L60 measures ~ 9-1/2".

Also, looking at the my bracket versus the bracket that was posted earlier in this thread, it seems like my 4L80 bracket looks different. This just may be the cause of my problem. This one is what mine looks like. It has a little white hook coming off the back for the cable to route through. The one posted above doesn't have that. Wonder if the cable clipping point is also different?

The bracket I posted is less than $20. Doesn’t hurt to try it.

what was the donor vehicle?

I'm not 100% positive, but I think it was a 98 2500 Silverado. I'll probably just buy that bracket and try it. That is probably the difference.

Figured out my issue ...the new bracket was basically the same as the first one. I flipped the lever arm around that slides over the NSS and it fixed it. Embarassing, but sometimes it is the simple things. A buddy of mine took that part off when I disassembled the truck, so I wasn't sure which way it went on. I guessed wrong, and didn't think about that throwing off the linkage distance to the bracket.

Anyways, problem is solved and I'must just waiting on my new skip yoke to get here from Dennys on Monday. Truck fired up and sounded great, so I'm ready to drive it!
