Default 4l80 swap issues

So almost done done with the swap but having a couple of issues.

1st the driveshaft.

I went to a local driveshaft shop and had them put on the th400 long yoke and new u joints. They cut it down some (more than I asked for) but it doesnt go in all the way ( you can see the mark on the shaft, thats as far as it goes in). My main confusion is that I marked it before they cut it and after and still only goes in the same amount. So what would it be hanging up on, and is not supposed be splined all the way?

2nd I can get my shift cable to go onto the trans when in park. My cable seems to be about 1/4 of an in shorter than where the shift mechanism is when both are in park.

Anyone have some insight for me?

Some vans had 4l80's that weren't splined all the way. Sounds like this is what you have.

But the yoke didnt come with the trans, so could that create the issue of not going into the trans any deeper?

I was talking to a buddy and he said that it since it has a bolt on tail housing its possible that it was a 4wd trans and they might not have changed out the output shaft. Could that be the issue?

the trans probably had a bolt on yoke. the output shaft has a grove cut in the shaft for an o-ring and it wont let the slip yoke to go all the way in

Ok busted off the tailshaft housing and this is what it looks like. You can see where the yoke splines are contacting the shaft when i try to put it in.

Is it supposed to be a bolt on yoke?

you will need a full rebuild to swap output shafts
