Would it have moved at all the first mile if it was a broken pump? That's the only thing that gives me a glimmer of hope it's not.

Yes it could have. Installation errors often fracture the pump. Then after the pump works & pushes fluid while driving, and pump pressure increases during driving, the fracture becomes a complete break. Then you have 0 psi.

And just to make sure, this was the 3 lug LS billet front setup - correct?

And like mentioned above, put a pressure gauge on the pressure port. That will let you know exactly what is going on. Next I would pull pan and check filter.

Makes sense. Dammit. LOL!

So.....do pieces of broken pump circulate through out the trans? If my 1 mile converter is trashed, my bad night just got worse

No, this was your high performance 278mm unit with a 3 lug setup for 80e.

You get one free cut and clean.... so we got you covered there. But you are correct, a broken pump can send trash into the converter.

OK, that is the LS bolt pattern. And just to make sure, you did not use a crank spacer. Bolted the flexplate directly to the crank.

That's good news. Didn't know that. But man...I would have liked to atleast have a good story for having to send it back.

If the pump or converter was the issue then checking fluid would yield fluid high up the stick. I Put the sonnax self regulating boost valve, and sonnax pressure regulator valve. Only thing i can think of is somehow the snap ring blew out on the boost valve sending all of it into the pan. I would have no clue why or how it made it down the street if it wasnt seated or the valve wasnt in correctly though??
