Yes it could have. Installation errors often fracture the pump. Then after the pump works & pushes fluid while driving, and pump pressure increases during driving, the fracture becomes a complete break. Then you have 0 psi.

And just to make sure, this was the 3 lug LS billet front setup - correct?
And like mentioned above, put a pressure gauge on the pressure port. That will let you know exactly what is going on. Next I would pull pan and check filter.

If the pump or converter was the issue then checking fluid would yield fluid high up the stick. I Put the sonnax self regulating boost valve, and sonnax pressure regulator valve. Only thing i can think of is somehow the snap ring blew out on the boost valve sending all of it into the pan. I would have no clue why or how it made it down the street if it wasnt seated or the valve wasnt in correctly though??
