Default 4L80E No Fluid Flow to Cooler

Pressure shows fine according to a gauge.

Shifts fine in every gear, lockup works great. But it overheats after about 15 miles.

Took cooler lines off and no flow at all. Idle and on rev limiter.

Ideas?

waiting to hear from my trans guy to see what he says.

Here is the results of the pressure test I did earlier.

Trans temp is 125*
Idle @ 700 rpms
55-60 psi

Drive at idle is 60psi.
Drive Wide open throttle is 190psi.
Reverse at idle is 90 psi.
Reverse wide open throttle is 310 psi

From what I can find in a 4l80e manual those pressure specs are good.
Trans just has a freshen up and a HD2 installed. Nothing special.

Did you pull the line at the trans to make sure the line wasn't blocked?

I actually didnt even think of that.

the first 80E i put in had flow going to the cooler. Planetary died and lost 4th gear plus reverse was very slow to engage.

Pulled that 80E out and put this one in there along with new hoses and moved the cooler up front. It was slowlying heating up and thats when i pulled the connectors at the cooler to check for flow.

Ill pull the fittings and try again. Dunno why i didnt think of that..

Check DTCs. I just did an 80e swap and the file I did my segment swap with gave me a p1810 code and the tranny would not cool. All I did was find a new tune to use for the segment swap and everything worked as is should after that.

Ended up the builder put the wrong year pump in the case and it doesnt have the ports in the right place for the cooler ports to line up.
