Default 4l60e tc and transmission question.

Will any year 4l60e torque converter and transmission mate with each other? I have a 99+ tc and an unknown tranny. Any help would be appreciated.

No the trans and the converter need to match. There are two that will be found in v8 trucks. One of which is 298mm and the other is a 300mm style.

Okay. Are there some numbers on the trans case I can put on here or do I need to take a mircometer and mic something? Can do both.

Ok I possibly found out that the 4l60e I got is a pre-99 type. The fuddle 3400 I have is 99 newer so will they be compatible or do I need to get another transmission?

Does the tip of the input shaft look EXACTLY like this? If not, you'll be swapping a few internals to make this work.

Nope. Mine has the o-ring near the tip of the shaft. Its not going to work. Just going to have to buy another trans I guess.
