Since my tranny died, I have been shopping. Has anyone on here bought one of these? **Non Sponsor Link Removed**
He has a good warranty and he is close enough I can go pick it up, when I emailed him he said he put a hardened sun shell in and a transgo shift kit. I know that many here use performabuilt and FLT. I know the saying that you get what you pay for, but this seems like a good deal. Thanks

Was there anything else in that rebuild? Why not have him install it when you pick it up?
It's not too bad if he is semi local. I recently did a rebuild with a local builder versus one of the supporting vendors primarliy for ease of convenience. If there was an issue, I give him a call & swing by for him to evaluate/fix/adjust.

Install is not problem, I will do that so there is no cost there, just time and beverage cost. Other things listed in the rebuild are; Starting with the pump new hardened rings, new veins, new steels and clutches, new high energy band, new heavy duty sun shell, new transgo sep. plate. new servo spring; so it sounds good to go.....

That sounds to good to be true. I am all for saving money but that price seems a little to good. I know a well built 60e can have over $1000 in just parts. So it might be a well built unit, just don't expect it to hold tons of HP. Just my $0.02. G/L

First off as a paying sponsor and for the other sponsors of the site we do not appreciate the nonsponsored links here.
Agreed that you get what you pay for. When he says hardened shell what does that mean? Some of the factory shells are hardened but that does not make them what the sponsors here install. Factory shells do fail. Also the picture he has listed is not what most of your trucks use. That is an early lt1 style transmission not an LS1. Does he charge the same for this?
Rings, vanes, steels and clutches are all part of a normal rebuild I don't see much from this.
High energy band is this the same factory band that came in your vehicle from the factory or a wide one that is installed by most performance builders?
New heavy duty sun shell?? Now from my comment above is this a hardened factory shell or a beast shell? Seems that two different parts were just mention that are basically the same part but different styles.
New servo spring? Is this the same spring that comes in the transgo shift kit? So basically he listed a second part to pad his list because in my opinion it looks thin.
But hey look at the price it is what it is. I think for what that guy is asking you could get into a FLT L3 with much more installed for a little bit more money. I personally feel that in a truck application with decent power this is one area not to go cheap. Good luck with your decision. Vince

Sorry about posting a non sponsored link, I was just looking for help from the forum not to be bashed for it. I guess that makes one less transmission on my list and helps my decision to be easier.
