Default Violent Shaking while braking!!

Hey all, i recently took a trip down to alabama with a small enclosed trailer to do some riding. While on the way there the truck started humming when hitting bumps. Without the trailer on the truck, the truck hums at 45-75mph, and when under braking, especially when coming to a stop, it violently shakes. I just replaced pads and rotors, checked all u0joints, hanger bearings and rubber mounts. Pulled the rear end cover to check for and broken gearing. So far everything has come back good looking and such. Anyone have any ideas as what this could be. thanks

cory

Humming and pulsating sounds like a bad wheel bearing to me...

that was the first thing i actually checked when i did the front brakes. There was no play at all side to side, or up and down. They spun freely as well.

check your rear brakes. if you have drums. i have drums and they went out of round twice.. and had my truck shaking nasty. i had them cut and they did it again. so i bought new ones never happen again.

if you didn't torque all the lugs to the same torque you can easily worp the rotors with the heat of a road trip. Also have you checked your CV Joints?

Check tires for cupping as well, that may cause the hum

Other than that sounds like bad rotor(s). They aren't Bosch are they?

And how many miles are you at that you needed a change?? I've got 90k and the factory brakes still have dam near 8mm's

check the rear caliper slides. one is probably sticking and it warped the rotor.

Yeah im gonna end up checking all these problems. The rear diff. gears looks good, and the lugs were tight. The truck has around 80K on it, with the stock rotors, and newer pads. They do seem a little warped after i ran the truck up to 50mph of the jack stands with the tires off. The one caliper was moving back and forth pretty good. They were making some noises. I think its time to replace the pads and rotors. Has anyone had their caliper seize up on them.

I have some violent shaking on mine also, but mine depends on how hard I press the brakes. If I give it just a little bit it will start shaking but if I give it some whoa it is smooth.

well so far no luck with he brakes. It now has all new pads and rotors all the way around, checked cupping in the tires and balancing while on jackstands, everything looks good. Should i clean the WSS or just go ahead and replace them. I am running out of ideas fast and its not getting any better.
