I found out today that the trans was not from an SSR it was made for a 99 Tahoe or Suburban Police Vehicle. I ordered a new flexplate for that trans . I hope that should take care of the problem. Is there anything special about the Police trans? I installed the HD-2
shift kit and billet servos. Can't wait to get it runnin..

I don't think the police package included any changes for that part of the drivetrain

I just drove the truck today finally. 95% there, i dont have 4th gear. Could that be the servos? Or did i screw something up with the HD-2 shift kit? I'm goin to check both options tomorrow at work.

SO did you actually get it to run now? No 4th gear though? I'm wondering if there was any difference in the HD-2 kit for the 01 up that we got, versus the 99 you have?

wasn't the '99 sub/hoe an old body style with the 5.7 instead of the 5.3? How would that affect the install? different bell housing, input shaft?

I believe that 99 was the year that they made the switch to the 5.3 and a new body style was in from 99 thru o2.

correct, somewhat...

the 1/2 trucks were changed in 99 to a new body style, but, I believe, the Tahoe, Suburban, 3/4 ton and 1 ton's trucks were still using the old body style with the early vortecs.

Is there any difference in the 5.7 transmission(splines, bellhousing, etc) and the 5.3 tranny? I thought there was, but I could be incorrect?

I think ur right there was a difference in bellhousing and input shaft but if it bolts to the converter shouldn't it work just fine? Plus i still don't know if it came from a 5.7 or 5.3.
