Converter dude, need a converter!!!

 

Better put those kids to work too!

 

Hell i got new job gonna stay at onld one part time for at least three months. Once ***** caught up from old jobs bs dont pay tech til customer pays policy, lack of business past three months, and them having an afinity for payin the wrong person for a job and not fixing it properly....i should be good..... Not to mention i got $2100 coming from what chick owes me hopefully this week.... Shouldnt be too long before i can get my converter now.... 14 year old wants to work, lol

 

Ok started on the other core tonight at least pulling it down to see what all i needed and well....



Valve body looks clean.....





Valve body and accumulator stored neatly in the pan.....





Plastic 1-2 accumulator piston.....





Valve body off..... Everything was going smoothly up to this point





And then i found out why i got the trans for $50!!!!!

Forgot to take pics of rest of it coming apart but it was all as clean as the valve body, frictions are pretty well burnt up, band was actually in really good shape... But left some wear on reverse input drum, so this one needs a pump, master rebuild kit, a band a reverse input drum and the teeth on the reaction shell have some wear on them, so its gonna get at least a hardened gm one... This is gonna basically be a stock rebuild with a few upgrades to help it out then im goin to put it on craigslist.... Tryin recoop some of my money, and get my converter for my trans so i can critique/ rebuild the mad dog thats in the truck now!!!!! My buddy told me tonight i should get 4 or 5 transmissions and list them on craigslist for side/play money as well as for spare parts!!!!

 

The sad part about that pump being trashed is that it looked like a fairly new pump and i know somebody put it in without the converter seated properly..... But it a mute point now because the pump is galled from the rotor breaking.... Bith halves are galled..... Get better pics tomorrow or whenever i get over there again, ill reassemble the bottom end and geartrain and hopefully get everything cleaned up, so once i get a new pump and other parts i need i can get this thing back togther and sold.... Im anxious to get my trans in my truck at this point!!! Oh and the low reverse sprag is squealing about as bad as mine was... $16 i think its worth replacing it if it looks like crap!!!! Or maybe even if it doesn't

Oh almost forgot i finished up the trans for my truck..... Wrapped in blankets g plastic bag and in corner of my buddys garage.....tried postvthese last night but my phone decided it needed a nap, until it got charged



New cooler fittings installed





And trans shift cable bracket half installed, misplaced one of the bolts for it

Actually I think it's a great color. Funny thing is that no one outside our age ranges know what grimace is.
