So a while back i swapped a 6.0 into a guys truck and accidentally loaded a 4l80 segment on his 60 and it shifted backwards. This gave me the idea that as long as u change the segment the tcm will automatically changea the wire output.
That was just theory. Fast foward to this weekend. We put an ls3 and 80e in an 07 gmt900. Plugged the harness in without repinning the harness. Plugged the vss to the rear sensor and loaded up an 80e segment to the tcm.

Truck runs and shifts perfectly fine. Speedo works just fine even.

Anyone else ever do this?

Thanks a bunch guys... Diagrams above did wonders helping me solve a problem for coverting my swap harness over to 4l60e (which was what I thought I bought to begin with.)

Its the guy that sold it to me that should be thanking you, I was about ready to tear his head off... had like 4 connectors cut off the harness, now when I licensed the PCM I discover its for a 6.0l/4l80e.

Now I'm just hoping I don't have any tune issues running the 4l60e with the 4l80e pcm, seeing as its already licensed, I may as well be married to the damn thing LOL. (I will be completely re-tuning it.. so as long as there aren't tables missing from the PCM or something I should be fine.)

HPTuners. I've read this "segment swap" term but don't grasp it. If you wanna PM me some info that'd be awesome. I was hoping I could just wipe the tune and flash in 4l60e tables.

Unfortionately all I'm getting over there is some dickbag telling me about how my oxygen sensors may not be compatible with my PCM... and then getting indignant with me for not thanking him up and down for raising (what is admittedly a valid concern, though I'm quite sure I'm fine in that area) something completely unrelated to my question.

I've put a message into HPTuners support, but if anyone has a 9379910 OS with a 4l60e segment I'll love you forever (and happily provide you more desireable a 4l80e segment in return!). A 1999 Vette segment would be great as it includes RTT... but I'd take anything 4l60e.
