Default same here

Hey everyone,
One thing I'm stuck on is the wiring for the new speed sensor to the pcm. The wiring diagrams I've seen say to put the pins in red 22,23 but I already have 2 wires there. I've also found an article that says OBS used white 7 and 8, but I have a pin on white 8 as well.
Anybody have a wiring diagram for a 96 HD that I could look at or run across the same problem? My ride is a 96 tahoe 4wd

Thanks

Your OBS has a different PCM. This thread refers to the 99+ NBS PCM. You'll need to find a diagram from a truck that came with a 4l80e and find out which pins the speed sensor wires go to.

I think GM changed pcm's in 98 or 99 so some OBS would use RED 22,23. Any ideas on who or where I can find a diagram for a 96 HD?

Anyone done the method of running the 4L80e on a 4L60e tune? I've seen a few posts on tech but nothing detailed. It had something to do with wiring a relay into the harness to switch polarity on one of the shift solenoids.

Default existing 1995 4l80e wiring want to install 4l60e tranny

Ok I am new so here's the deal. I have a 1995 GMC truck with a bad 4l80e trans. I know a guy that has a good 1997 4l60e that he will let go cheap. This is my work truck so money is definitely an object.

I have read this entire thread and I am confused as to what I need to do to convert my 80e wiring to run the 60e trans. Would just finding a 1995 harness for a 60e trans do the job along with a computer swap?

Or do I have more re wiring to do? If so what?

I cant believe GM would design an entire harnesses around a specific trans.

Wouldn't it just be a matter of the "sub harness" and computer?

I thow this is an older thread but the problem is new to me...Thanks

if i do the plug conversion will the stock 60 harness reach the new plug in pint on the 80? i was just looking at the 80 and don't see where the vss/iss plug would go in on the front passenger side. btw it's an 2001 80 going into my 2003 rcsb with an 06 lq4. what a mess

here is EVERYTHING you will need to complete the wiring for a 4L60E to 4L80E

"ISS" pigtail
http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...spx?ItemId=592

extra wire, for the ISS to PCM, same gauge as the pigtail (I picked blue and red wire)

http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...spx?ItemId=643
http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...spx?ItemId=270

terminals for PCM connection

http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...spx?ItemId=296

Total cost = $22.40 (and I bought a total of 28 feet of wire, just to be safe that I have enough)

Yes it will reach. The ISS sensor on the 80E is on the driver's side toward the front.
