Default 4l60 to 4l80e Swap (Small Question)

Hi, does there need to be any modifcation done to the cross member if I wanted to swap in this new transmission?

Ive read other people's articles doing the swap and they needed to do the modifcation but just wanted to make sure if the same applied to the 2008 GMC sierra 5.3 Regular Cab Standard Box

Im asking this because if there needed to be any modication done to the chassis then I wouldnt be able to register the car...

Thanks

You just have to do some work on the tranny cross member. I bet most people wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

And its not the frame your doign work to its just the cross member but I dont know if the classify that as part of the frame.

i did the exact same thing that lowlq4 did and it was simple i just cut the cross member a couple inches out from where it bolts to the frame and moved the center section back 6 inches and it was perfect.
