2600 or 3000 stall?
#1
I'm looking at a stall for my next mod. I searched all the threads, and while most recommend a 2600 stall for a Radixed truck, these were for either 5.3 or 6.0 engines. I am wondering if for my 4.8, since it has a shorter stroke, thus less low end torque, but loves to rev, if a 3000 stall might be better? The other bit of wisdom I got from the search is that it's better to go a bit higher stall than you think you want, which would argue for the 3000. On the other hand, I looked at some of the videos of high stalled cars on ls1tech, and some of them were too loose for a daily driver IMAO (5000 rpm accelerating into traffic?). What do you guys recommend? Would a TB converter work? or would my engine shred it? BTW I have a 4.8 w/ radix, 10 psi boost, about 420 est crank HP. 3.73 G80 axle and 265x75x16" tires, it's 4WD. I use it as a daily driver but plan to take it to the track in the near future, and would like to do the 13's. I don't currently tow, but would like to retain that capability, as least to a moderate degree. The truck weighs 5000 lb (oink!).

I have a TT3000 stall and it's fine for DD. There is a difference from stock but its not too loose.
Where does your power come on? I would think with the Radix you're making some good low end? A higher stall and you lose your low end. Add a cam to gain some top.

Apparently some **** has come up outside of the mans business that has taken away from his time to deal with the company. IMO The Breeze just caught him at a bad time. I dont know all the details but I have never had a real problem getting ahold of him and have always had good service and treated me right.

For the starter of this thread I would go with a 3000 the manufacturer is up to you but I have had good luck with Fuddle converters and so have everyone else that have had them.
