Default 2500 Front Axle on a 1500

I'm not too knowledgeable on the Trucks on what parts will swap over..so bare with me..

I'm looking to get a 1999-02 1500 Silverado or Sierra 4x4..then eventually swapping in a 6.0l/4L80E. I know that I can put in the 2500HD Rear Leaf Springs.

Will the 1999-02 2500HD Front Axle bolt in place on the 1500 Chassis..I've heard it's a stronger Axle setup, that's why I ask.

Will the truck still be able to turn as sharp as it does..?

If it's the same thing and the reason it's a different part number is cause the Hub is 8 Lug instead of 6 then I guess let me know.

Thanks.

It's been done before, but is definitely not a bolt in. The mounting point for the passenger side axle tube is off from your current unit and you would have to make a custom mount. Also the center case of the differential is larger, so you would have to grind off some of the stiffening ribs off the case for clearance. Those are only a couple of the highlights, as I can't remember all the items involved.

Damn, I guess things on trucks don't swap over as easily as the cars..

How weak is the 1500 one in all reality..I'm not rock crawling..it would be nice to have 4wd to do some playin around and incase I need it.
