Default 2001 2wd Ball Joints

Getting ready to lower my sons 2001 silverado 2wd. While ive got it down i'm going to put everything new in the front end. What ball joints do you guys like? My first choice the OEM are no longer available. Reading the reviews at different retailers i see some folks have had moogs where the stud breaks! Scary stuff especially with my kid driving this truck.

Never had an issue with the NCP line from Napa. (Napa Chassis Parts) I will warn you though, they are pretty pricey.

The upper ball joints I usually just replace with the entire arm so I get new bushings as well. Those are around $90 each at napa I think.

Or you can go with the AC Delco Lower Ball joints that are way cheaper and will do the same job. These are about $50 each

AC Delco control arms from Rock auto are about $71.

Use the discount codes found everywhere for rockauto and save 5% too.

I have an entire Moog front end on my cranked 4x4 running 33s

Im actually on my second "problem solver" front end. I have issues with wearing stuff out and clunks(lots of miles in dirt for this girl), but I have never broken a BJ. I haven't really heard of that happening either

Im a Moog +1'r. I'd run em on a 2wd and never think 2x about it

I'm running the NAPA ($52) balljoints on my 4/6 drop. Installed in 2005 with no issues in 15 years.

McGaughys 2" inch (16"+ wheel) drop spindles.
