The #19121582 is exclusive to the 05-06 SS and VHO and is flanged for drum brakes. The 1500HD housing is #12471325 and is flanged for disc brakes. It lists for $1136 and dealer wholesale is $906. That's quite a difference in price. I guess performance parts command higher prices. I should have pics of both rears in a few days for comparison. They appear to have the same 33 spline axles except for the 6 & 8 lug thing.

I guessed that. I had already tried some of the performance rearend suppliers.

I got my housing and it looks great, see pics. Only difference from my 10bolt housing is it's bigger in the center section.

Disc -- just upgraded mine about six months ago.

 

It's nice to have something truly OEM like that. As long as you have the model truck it fits it's already easy to get parts. That's been a problem for me already with my contraption. I have a 10.5" rear that's been converted to semi-float with ends similar to a Ford 9". It doesn't have c-clips and standard brake parts fit, but every time I have to do a seal or bearing it will involve machine work and downtime. The 9.5" is plenty strong. The axle shafts in it are actually larger than the ones in 10.5" full-float rear.

Please keep us posted here regarding the ease of install of that housing! Especially things like the parts list for the axles, bearings, etc., and whether or not you have to change the position of any of those shock/spring mounts. Thanks!
