Okay -- thats the one I found for $1160. I'll try to get a part number tomorrow.

How can you tell if you are looking at a "lightweight" 14 bolt? If IM understaing what is posted above I could get a "lightweight" 14bolt, swap out axles with a set of axles with 30 splines and a 6 lug hub and go on down the road. Correct? Sorry for the thread hi-jack but Im wondering about interchangeability also.

The "lightweight" SF 14 bolt axles DO NOT bolt in place like the FF axles do...look at the hub and if you see a smaller circle of 10 bolts you are looking at a FF heavy duty housing
You can tell by the diff shape too...the diff is more "rounded" on the SF lightweight 14 bolt, the FF is very sharply cornered

The light weight has axle tubes the size of a 10 bolt, the heavy duty ones are bigger and the center section material looks 3 times as thick as the lightweight. You can't mistake it when you see it. It looks heavyyyy! The 33 spline axles are bigger than the 10 bolt 30 spline axles but the 30 spline FF axles are bigger than 33 spline. I'm pretty sure the 1500HD 14bolt/9.5" has the 33 spline axles because of the size of the axle tubes and are SF.
I will have a part number and price tomorrow on the 1500HD 14bolt/9.5"

Okay -- 2 part numbers for the 06 1500HD 14 bolt 9.5" SF:
19121582 - "positraction" model
19121580 - "without positraction" model
Both are $1821 and the guy couldn't find the $1160 option he found before (most likely gave me cost or something on that call -- shoulda order lol).
My local driveline shop says there is no difference in the housings - maybe a bearing difference, but it doesn't matter. He also thinks he can find them cheaper by going directly to the housing builder -- more on that as it develops.

I'm sorry, I can't believe that whatever additions they've made to the "new" SF 6-lug 14 bolt SF make it worth $1800....An "old" SF 6-lug 14 bolt is still incredibly strong and you can find them in salvage yards for under $250, all you have to do is move the spring-perches on it and your golden
