I don't mean to discredit anyone, but I swapped my out my 10bolt for a 10.5" FF 14Bolt from a 2500HD I didn't have relocate the spring perches. That was the 1st thing I checked when looking into the swap.

I thought the perches only needed to be moved going from different generations, ie a 95 axle into a 2005.....what year did you get the axle from?

That makes sense.
My 14bolt axle is from a '04 2500HD, which I swapped into my '06 1500CC Z71.

If you get a 14 bolt sf from a earlier year like the obs trucks that came with the sf 6 lug 14 bolts the spring perches have to be moved and such. But if you could find a 14 bolt out of a vortech max it would be a direct swap

However for folks that don’t have the time or just don’t want the hassle of piecing together components and have the cash, Drivetrain dot com has a 14-Bolt 10.5” Conversion package that is built to replace the 10-Bolt ½ ton rear end using the original backing plates, brakes and six-lug wheels from your original axle. Like I said, it may just be an option for some that have more cash than time and don’t feel like hunting down a rebuild-able axle.
Thanks for posting that. I have been looking for exactly that
