I did my 6spd swap with an oem harness, reflashed my ecm with a 2008 2wd denali OS at the dealer. Fired up, had no tuning issues. Adjusted ecm for the cam and drove it for a very long time like that.
I did keep my 60e harness and tcm though. Although it'll never go back 4L60e...now a 4L80e with big hp maybe
Oh and i never got around to fooling with the bcm to control the TU/TD button. A g8/ctsv/vette uses a wired connection vs a bcm to control it. I bought speartechs button/harness but never installed it.

Thsi swap should be about as straight forward in an nnbs as a 4l80 into an nbs, biggest difference is the tcm being separate, and needing to swap a denali or newer truck os.... Ive been doing some reasearch on the wiring of the tu/td tow/haul cruise etc.... Maybe conpletely off base but, there are two wires going to the bcm for tu/td in my case an 08 yukon with or without denali has same part number on the bcm, which tells me its mostly in the os and wiring, and as far as the tcm, nnbs are separate on the 4l60 they are just not internal as they are on the 6l80/90...... Looking like a couple wires added to the bcm and a shifter stalk swap would take care of the tu/td as it looks like the serial data picks uo theshifting command... And the tcm would need to swap harness or pull wires for the 60 tcm and wire everything in for the6l80 and ut would possibly function as factory... Not sure about instrument cluster, havent dug that far yet...

I have not messed with this at all since my last post, but have put plenty of miles on it. All I can say is that it's worth every penny for this swap. I put a quad in the bed, and towed a rzr on a trailer on a 200 mile trip and it was nice. The real test to me was this past weekend though. I pulled a 5th wheel camper on that same 200mile trip and I weighed 13720lbs total. It pulled it very well. Was in 5th gear most of the time, and hit 4th for some hills(about 3k rpm). But it was sooooo nice not to be revving 3600rpm the whole time.
The TU/TD is at a stand still. It would have been very useful on this last trip so I will be wanting to figure it out soon. From what I'm told from a very good source is that the Truck OS WILL NOT work with the Vette style shifter, so my original plan won't work. It will come down to either putting all the "right" parts in, or making a module to talk on the CAN BUS. I'll try the module first. Lol.
My PRNDL still says PRND321. But if I put it in 3 it will lock it out of 6th(1-5 shifts normal) same thing for 2. But if I put it in 1 it will do 1st and 2nd gear and that's it.
I'm sure one of them will let me use tap shift, but can't try anything yet as I have other projects going on.
