Default 04 Z71 !block mod

I'm looking to delete the 2" blocks on my 04 Z71. I know I need to buy some 2wd U-bolts, but I looked at it and it looks like the axle will be restin on, or very close to, the stock bump stops. Do I need to change to the belltech bump stops? If so, whats the proper part #?

Front is staying stock height - dropping the rear 2" should level the truck out nicely.

Weird. My dads 2005 Z71 has that really nice 2 inch rake to it that I hate so much.

really oldred? my truck has almost no rake at all stock. its leveled out.. can i still lower my truck by de cranking? or is my set up different? my truck is set up like a 4x4.. but isnt and not a z71.. i have had some problems trying to figure out what i need to do to lower it. it has torsion bars and 2" blocks out back.. maybe i need drop keys or spindles?? i have no idea lol.

you can lower the front by decranking.....it will soften up the front giving you more travel but you will be close to the front bump stops.....as far as the back goes you shouldnt have an issue with the bump stops unless you remove the block AND put in drop shackles....anyhow you can trim the top "bubble" off the bump stop with a hacksaw. no biggie....theres a thread around here explaining this topic.

so i guess my truck just has the torsion cranked up then.. i have read in other threads that the front bump stop almost rests on the lca.. but on my truck its has about 1.5 to 2" clearance from the bump stop. how is your front set-up, stock birch? i wish my truck had springs.. be so much easier.lol. my truck for some odd reason says its a heavy duty towing suspension package but came with a 4.8... that hurts my head a lil...

lol i say be happy you have a torsion bar setup...theyre easy to raise and lower....all you need is socket wrench and 2 minutes of free time. As far as mine stock i dont remember....i cranked the tbars up to level it out within a few hrs of having the truck...it use to be lifted a hair with some 33's. I can tell you that if your front sits level with the back and you have a block in the back then your tbars have been cranked. if you look at the bolts that you actually are cranking, and they are flush with the bottom of the tbar crossmember then its about stock.....if the bolt head is up inside the crossmember then the front has been raised...if the bolt head hangs below the bottom of the crossmember it has been lowered. at least this is the case with my truck.
