Many times a pinhole leak in the transfer case is due to broken or worn guides or a chain with excessive slack. Can you give us an idea where the leak is specifically on the case?

Gilbert, thanks for the follow-up.

The leak was from the classic pump rub issue.

The rattle clip was not even broken, but the 3 of the pump ears had worn into the case. One was enough to puncture all the way through.

I cleaned, sanded, applied JB Weld to the hole and then installed the Merchant Auto CNC Pump Rub fix. Total cost in parts/materials about $120 including new fluid.
