* my specific case was because the fuse holder could not handle the near engine temps. yours might be a difference case but everything points to the fuse holder being the culprit- you can see it in your picture. my wires were not melting either- just at the contact point where the fuse connects to the holder. if a connection there is not clean/solid it will cause resistance and heat up. your picture shows this
