Default Checking for leaking fuel injector.

What is the best way to test to physically see if an injector is leaking? This is on a 2008 Silverado w/ 5.3 AFM motor.

My thought was to loosen the wiring harness running on the top of the engine to be able to remove the fuel rail assembly as a whole. Then turn the truck on with Key On/Engine Off and prime the pump and check to see if the injector is leaking. I was going to put some shop towels under them see if any fuel drips. Then replace the o-rings when I reassemble.

Can I disconnect the electrical connections from the injector and still prime the pump? Fuel will still be forced to the fuel rail/injectors, correct?

I've tested fuel pressure and I get a pressure drop of more than what the books says so I want to physically see if they are leaking. At least it will rule out one other possibility.

Unplugging the injectors and priming the pump will work as a diy solution. However, the proper way is to use a bi directional scan tool to activate one injector at a time and recording the pressure drop. Can be done on truck without Unplugging or removing anything.

i don't know why I never thought of that. That's definitely the cleanest and most simple approach. Did I say easiest too?
