Default too big of injectors?

Well I don't know what I was thinking really.. I bought some fic 80lb injectors for my 5.3 turbo build. It's going to have an isky triple 12 cam in it shortly, I was doing some logs today and saw the injector duty cycle at idle right now is only 1%, are 80's going to be way too huge? I want to run a max of like 15 psi boost, just don't know about idling and such with these huge injectors.

Unless your minimum pulse width for those injectors is higher than the commanded pulse width at idle, you should be fine. I do see lots of vehicles with aftermarket injectors go rich on hard decel, though. But that isn't too big a deal.

I hope they're not too big, I'm about to install 100's on my 383. I bought them in case I go turbo some day.

I'm running the siemens deka 80's on a 5.3, as Jake said the will go rich on decal from time to time and and cold start lean idle also but all in all they are pretty driveable. I had some help from Atomic and beatdown z getting my initial tune dialed in.

I wouldn't worry about it. I know of a few people on the site with 5.3 builds sporting larger injectors than 80s. Some have been over the 100 mark in small cube turbo builds. Better to have way more than you need than to not have enough. I have seen 1% IDC at idle in vehicles that are completely stock. I wouldn't worry about it.

Often times the reason for large injectors on small cubes is E85. Small cube/big injector combos idle better on E85 because it is operating further from the nonlinear range of the injector.

I am using 80s on my 4.8 so I can do E85 when I so desire. You'll be good.
