Default Overthinking fuel system?

Alright am I the only one overthinking my fueling set up for my turbo? I am back and forth between KB and Trick but I am starting to like KBs kit a bit more so we are going to use that as the baseline S475 turbo.

Here are my constraints: I do not want dual pump.
I don’t really want to modify the stock pump housing and be fuel starved. I daily this truck and go low on fuel, it happens and I’m never going to change ways most likely.

So here is my possible set up, first I will swap tanks to the 04-06 tank as well as all the extra stuff needed for that swap.
2nd Put in a walbro 525? I am doing this more for security reasons as I see a lot of people doing dual 450s and I know the 525 flows more than I will probably end up needing.
3rd Meth kit cause high compression and stock bottom end. I need some studying up on this but this should suffice as a placeholder for now
4th External fuel regulator since that 525 will be too much I think. Also need some working on this because not certain where you place it inline.
5th New fuel rails to handle fuel amount
6th New fuel lines needed?
7th Anything else I’m missing?

A lot of my posts are going to be turbo related so mods if you want me to quit posting threads I will and just post on the same thread. Move appropriately.

Not wanting to swap tanks and fuel starving is exactly why I use a surge tank with a Walbro 450 in it. I still have the stock pump in the tank. I built my own surge tank and mounted it just in front of the stock charcoal canister. See diagram below, works great.

If you have reasonable access to E85, it's way better than carrying a meth system. Converting to flex fuel is not expensive if you have tuning software.

I use an Aeromotive 13129 external fuel regulator like a lot of people, you don't need new rails or lines unless you are getting north of 800HP. I mostly run E85, so I'm pushing a lot of fuel through the stock stuff with no issues.

Oh I’m fine with fuel tank swapping that’s no problem. I do not have e85 and to be honest that is going to be more expensive than running meth I am quite sure.

I’ve seen that regulator mentioned a few times, do you have a gauge in the truck for fuel pressure or not needed? I’ll look into it more.

Surge tank I haven’t thought about that. Any fuel starving at 1/2 tank etc?

I have an Innovative Motorsports 3903 in the cab which measures fuel pressure and a few other things. No fuel starving issues because I have the stock pump in the tank (stock jet pump works) and the walbro 450 is constantly submerged in fuel. Fuel pressure low light is set two PSI below idle fuel pressure and it has never lit.

Could I see a picture of your in cab set up? Super interested in this. I like the idea of the walbro being constantly submerged.

I was looking at the glowshift gauges for my wideband, boost and I read it is suggested to get one for ambient air temp? Though probably should get a fuel pressure one especially for the walbro.

Wait doesn’t that mean you have two pumps technically?

Crappy cell phone pics. I replaced the cassette and CD case holder with block off plates for gauges and Android Auto hook up's.

Upper dash with boost controller. Replaced cubby hole that nothing fit in with gauge plate.

Ah okay yeah I am probably going to do the three on the a-pillar and if needed two in the overhead console. I have the 03-06 center console I fit.

My plan is to run an 044 inline fed by my stock flex fuel pump. Probably let the stock regulator do it's thing until it proves to be an issue. Both pumps will run 100% of the time; no Hobbs switch

My goal is only 500 on 91 and whatever on E, so I am building the system to accommodate that 14-16psi I'll be making at redline with the wastegate closed

Yeah I’m just trying to avoid the dual pump. Single pump for me if possible. I’m going to do the T6 instead of the T4 S475 I think as well.
