Overthinking fuel system?

I can't really envision a scenario where the boost the controller has anything to do with fuel pump control, what are you thinking there? Just open the wastegate if the controller detects a pump failure?
Are you opposed to a single external pump?
thread title is accurate, you are over thinking this 😂

I used a Walbro 255 direct replacement of my stock pump part # TU432HP-2 from Racetronix and an inline Walbro 255 plumbed in parralel, it was fairly easy. I know its still 2 pumps but I did not want to modify the bucket and have fuel starvation either. Never thought about a surge tank, think thats the route I would go if doing over. However my goals where pretty modest 450 to 500.

Refer to post 17. I’m fine with a single external pump I literally suggested it but I was going to keep the bucket so I can continue to have a fuel level sensor and evap
Also for the boost controller I was just referencing Atomic’s post stating that’s what he does so idk what to tell you

He's suggesting turning a pump on with it (which I still dont understand) not cancelling boost in the event of a pump failure. So Im still lost, dont get testy lol
Run the single external off the sump then. Leave the bucket. Dont even need to swap tanks at that point either

I wasn’t getting testy cx just pointing out what you may have missed. I know he is saying turn the pump on with the BC I was not saying to cancel boost I was saying turn the pump on like he was.
Okay so the sump with the bucket as a fuel gauge and evap unit will work then correct? I was just going to pull the pump out the bucket and leave it empty

A lot of boost controllers have an accessoriy window switch of sorts, they can put out a 12v (or ground) signal when certain boost or rpm (or both) conditions are met. My eboost street does this which is not a fancy controller, but I like this feature. If I want my 2nd fuel pump to come on at 2.5psi and above 2000rpm then as soon as I hit those parameters it does, its more accurate than a hobbs switch.
I have seen far more external pump failures than just doing an internal pump. You dont have to hack up the bucket to make a 525 fit, but it will obviously drain fuel faster than the stock one will. Maybe I missed your power goal but unless its 700+ you can probably make the single work. You can drive it low on gas, just dont do hard launches with the light on. Or do a surge tank.

Make a single 450 work? I am getting the KB kit I think with the S475. I’d like to run 10-12 psi and street it. I’ll probably run meth as well. If it is 700+ hp then so be it. I’d love to hit 700 but that is probably incredibly optimistic.
