Default Fuel tank move

Say a person wanted to move the fuel tank to the spare tire location. Where would be a good place to start looking for a tank? Or would it be better to make your own? I would like to keep the full use of the tank ie level sender and evap. Are there any stock tanks that might be a good donor?

Having a tank built is pricey. I know your not around your Tahoe for a little while but, Take some measurements and start looking at some of the conversions for the older trucks like a 67-72 rear tank. You also may be able to get a general tank from summit and move the mounting tabs or do as I am and building a sort of cage for it to sit in.

Why not just leave the factory tank?

why not leave the whole truck stock? thats what modding is all about!

but for me, its in the way for what i want to do. suspension/exhaust.

plus if i sit it behind the rear it would take my 52/48 weight distrubution to damn near 50/50 which is just a bonus.
