Default Roush or Saleen?

Has anyone seen the new F150 being offerd by these two? Does anyone own won? I was surprised at the pricing of these trucks. Very reasonable (about $40000) for a truck with a three year warranty. I am hoping that they will offer these in the Crew Cab. I sure miss the Harley Edition Crew Cabs. SVT sure needs to wake up and see what the Bowtie guys are up to. Greggos gotta sweet ride in his new SS. Almost makes me want to quit pushing a Blue Oval and get behind a Bowtie !

Bowtie guy here! The Harley Davidson Edition is hardly worth missing...IMO. There was nothing to it. The Lightning on the other hand... it's still around right? The Lightning is a nice looking truck, and fast. IMO, it has the upper hand over the SS Silverado. It weighs much less (singlecab) and it has more horse (I think). I don't think either the Blue Oval or the Bowtie should take cues from the other. They should both do what they do and stay true to their heritage.

Between Saleen and Roush, I vote for Roush. Their vehicles look more subtle. They look classy and tough, where the Saleen looks too aggressive and all the while pretentious. As it turns out, Steve Saleen gets his parts from Pep Boys (I used to live in Orange County, I can tell you stories).

Actually, the 02 and 03 HD's had the same motor as a Lightning. 2psi less boost tho. Nothing to sneeze at. And no, the Lightning went out in 04. Might reappear in 08, but it ain't looking good.

Eh, they're both slow as **** and too damn heavy, lol.

14.2's stock isn't exactly slow for a 4dr pickup truck. Sure, the L2 would run 14.0's or quicker all stock and compared to the lacklustre Silverado SS, that's saying something. The weight diff. isn't as much as you'd think, and the HD may well be the heaviest of the three, even though the GM is AWD and clearly that adds a bunch.

Upper hand... C'mon, just say it eclipses the SS easily. Anyone paying close attention surely knows this and shouldn't feel offended anymore. The only sad note is, the L2 isn't even being made and still, it is more on a performance level than the SS.

It weighs less for sure, but it also has about 60 more rwhp when both are stock. More importantly perhaps, it makes a seriously higher amount of rwtorque.

They should both do what they do and stay true to their heritage.
I'd like to see that. Of course, the L2, SS or H-D models are all far from any company heritage.

I think both leave much to be desired in looks. But there's no question, Saleen versions will hold a higher retail than Roush. That's always been the case and I see nothing changing. I expect Ford to release the L3 by 08's yr end. They've put their resources solidly into the Shelby GT500 Cobra and once it's on the market, they'll be gathering again, around the current F-150 platform to finish what they started. Too many transmission problems seemed to have halted the next rendition, but obviously there are ways to fix that problem.
